China's annual industrial output is expected to grow 4.3 percent in 2023, as the sprawling industrial economy maintains a recovery trend, the country's top industry regulator said.

Such performance helps China secure its position as the world's largest manufacturing country for the 14th consecutive year, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology said in a conference on Thursday.

Next year, the ministry will step up its efforts to stabilize the growth of industrial economy, spur the consumption of new energy vehicles and electronic products, and spare no efforts to boost the high-quality development of key manufacturing industrial chains, it added.

Meanwhile, efforts will be made to pilot the comprehensive electrification of vehicles in public transport, strengthen regulatory guidance and quality supervision in the photovoltaic industry, and promote the application of rare earths in aerospace, electronic information, new energy and other fields, the ministry added.

MIIT also pledged more efforts to launch pilot projects for the admission and on-road use of intelligent connected vehicles, and promote the large-scale application of Beidou Navigation Satellite System and the development of satellite internet.
